With changing annual designs, and struck to Perth Mint’s high quality standards, they are popular with collectors.

Each 2014 Australian Kookaburra 1 kilo silver coin is 101 mm in diameter, and contains one kilogram (1,000 grams) of 999 fine silver. They are legal tender in Australia, with a face value of 30 AUD. Perth Mint produced 34,534 of the 2014 1 kg Kookaburra coins.

The reverse design of the series changes each year, and the 2014 coins feature a kookaburra perched on a branch, surrounded by gum leaves. The inscription “AUSTRALIAN KOOKABURRA”, “2014 1 KILO 999 SILVER”, and the Perth Mint ‘P’ mark can also be found, alongside the initials ‘NM’ for designer Natasha Muhl.

The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (head of state of the British Commonwealth) by Ian Rank-Broadley whose initials ‘IRB’ can be seen below the Queen’s neck. The coin’s face value of 30 DOLLARS is also included, alongside the inscription “ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA”.

The 2014 Australian Kookaburra 1 kg silver coin is perfect for collectors looking to purchase one of these impressive coins. Individual coins are supplied in capsules.
