Up for bidding is 2022 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coin
Each of these 2022 Mexican Libertad 1 oz gold coins is struck to bullion standard in 999 fine gold, with a diameter of 34.5 mm, and just 1,900 coins were produced that year. Although they are considered legal tender in Mexico, the Libertads do not have a face value on them.
The obverse of the gold Libertad coins features the current Mexican coat of arms, surrounded by 10 previous versions of the arms. The inscription “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS” can also be found, which translates to ‘United Mexican States’.
On the reverse, the winged Victory, also known as the Angel of Independence, stands in front of two volcanoes, Popocatépetl and Iztaccihuatl. The words “1 ONZA ORO PURO 2022 LEY .999” can be seen alongside the mint’s logo ‘Mo’.
