The 2007 Year of the Tiger 1 oz silver coin is part of Perth Mint’s popular Lunar Series, and issued by Australia. This coin is part of Series I of the Lunar coins, which were issued between 1996 and 2007. Perth Mint is famous for their beautiful coins, struck to a high quality, and the Lunar coins are exceptionally popular with collectors. Due to an overlap of Series I and II of the Lunar range, this coin somewhat confusingly has 2007 on the obverse, and 2010 on the reverse.

Each coin contains 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams) of 999 fine silver, and has a diameter of 45.6 mm. They are legal tender in Australia with a face value of 1 AUD. There were 56,077 of these Year of the Tiger 1 oz silver bullion coins struck in 2007.

The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (head of state of the British Commonwealth) by Ian Rank-Broadley whose initials ‘IRB’ can be seen below the Queen’s neck. The 1 DOLLAR face value is also included, alongside the inscription “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA” and 2007.

The reverse depicts a tiger stood on rocky ground. The Chinese character for ‘tiger’ and 2010 also appear in the design with the inscription "1 OZ 999 SILVER".
