The reverse design changes each year, and the 2015 coins feature a koala sat in the fork of a eucalyptus tree with the outback in the background. The inscription “AUSTRALIAN KOALA”, “2015 1 oz 999 SILVER”, and the Perth Mint ‘P’ mark can also be found, alongside the initials ‘IJ’ for designer Ing Ing Jong.

The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (head of state of the British Commonwealth) by Ian Rank-Broadley whose initials ‘IRB’ can be seen below the Queen’s neck. The coin’s face value of 1 DOLLAR is also included, alongside the inscription “ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA”.
