This 2021 1/4 oz Lunar gold bullion coin from Australia’s Perth Mint is fabricated in .9999 fine gold and celebrates the Chinese Year of the Ox.

The Ox is the second of the twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac calendar, and those born in the Year of the Ox are said to be strong, reliable, fair and conscientious, inspiring confidence in others.

The reverse of the 1/4 oz gold coin features detailed imagery of an Ox, with the Chinese character for Ox displayed in a contemporary style along with the inscription Ox 2021.

The obverse of the coin features a head portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the words “AUSTRALIA”, and the coin’s weight and gold purity “1/4 oz 9999 Au”. The 1/4 oz gold Ox has a face value of AUD 25.

Historically the Perth Mint was a branch mint of the Royal Mint of London but is now fully owned by the Government of Western Australia.
