2012 1 oz Niue Silver Good Luck Koi Proof Coin (Pre-Owned in Good Condition)

Up for bidding is 2012 1 oz Niue Silver Good Luck Koi Proof Coin (Pre-Owned in Good Condition)

In Chinese tradition, koi are powerful symbols of love, loyalty, and good fortune. Because they are often seen swimming side by side, a pair of koi represents a faithful, harmonious partnership, which is why koi charms and figurines are popular wedding gifts. They are also linked to abundance and fertility, and a koi swimming upstream stands for determination and the courage to follow your own path. Their graceful beauty has even earned them the nickname "swimming flowers."

The reverse of this 2012 Feng Shui coin shows two brightly enamelled koi gliding together in perfect unison. Finely engraved cherry blossoms surround them and frame the scene with a soft, elegant touch. The obverse carries a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II along with the year and face value.

The coin contains 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver, is struck to Proof quality. It is legal tender of Niue with a face value of 2 Dollars.

The coin was produced and guaranteed by the New Zealand Mint, a privately owned mint based in Auckland. Known as the "Minters of the South Pacific," it has built a strong reputation over four decades for creative commemorative coins issued for nations such as Niue, Fiji, Tuvalu, and the Cook Islands.

With a limited mintage of just 8,000 coins, the Feng Shui Koi Fish is a meaningful keepsake for collectors, lovers of Asian symbolism, and anyone looking for a special wedding or anniversary gift.
