The Year of the Rabbit coin is the fourth coin to be issued in the New Perth Mint Lunar Series 3. Running from 2020 to 2032, the Perth Mint's latest Lunar series of coins will feature the 12 animals In the Chinese Lunar calendar.

Those born in the Year of the Rabbit are said to be gentle, quiet, elegant, and alert as well as quick, skillful, kind, patient, and very responsible.

The reverse of the 1/4 oz gold coin features a Rabbit leaping among grasses with feathery plumes with the Chinese character for Rabbit displayed in a contemporary style along with the year 2023.

The obverse of the coin features an Ian Rank-Broadley designed portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the words “AUSTRALIA”, and the coin’s weight and gold purity “1/4 oz 9999 Au”.

As one the world’s most prestigious national precious metals mints, the Perth Mint is fully owned by the Government of Western Australia.
