The reverse design changes each year, and the 2013 coins feature a koala sat in the branches of a eucalyptus tree. The inscription “AUSTRALIAN KOALA”, “2013 10 oz 999 SILVER”, and the Perth Mint ‘P’ mark can also be found, alongside the initials ‘TV’ for designer Thomas Vaughan.

The obverse features the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II (head of state of the British Commonwealth) by Ian Rank-Broadley whose initials ‘IRB’ can be seen below the Queen’s neck. The coin’s face value of 10 DOLLARS is also included, alongside the inscription “ELIZABETH II” and “AUSTRALIA”.
