The Austrian Mint is located in Vienna, Austria, and is one of the oldest mints in Europe.

Each 1 oz Vienna Philharmonic platinum bullion coin is 99.95% pure platinum and weighs 1 troy ounce (31.1 grams). 

The Vienna Philharmonic coin series was first issued by the Mint in October 1989, and its highly-stylized design celebrates the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic orchestra.

The obverse of the 1 oz platinum Vienna Philharmonic coin features the Great pipe organ in the Vienna Concert Hall, encircled above by the words “Republik Oesterreich”..

The reverse of the platinum coin portrays a selection of the Vienna Philharmonic orchestra's musical instruments, namely a cello, four violins, a Viennese horn, a harp, and a bassoon. Both coin faces were designed by the chief engraver of the Austrian Mint.
