The 1 gram Chinese gold Panda coin, minted from 99.9% pure gold, is the smallest coin in the gold Panda coin range.
Gold Panda coins are some of the best known gold bullion coins in the world and are minted by Shenzhen Guobao Mint which is owned by China’s central bank, the People's Bank of China.
Each year the imagery on the gold Panda coins changes, and for 2022 the reverse of the gold Panda coin features two panda cubs playing with snow, showing a kind of innocence and harmony between animal and nature. You will also find a privy mark of 40 representing the 40th release of the panda coin.
The reverse face also displays the coin's weight and purity, '1g Au .999', and the coin's face value 10 Yuan.
The obverse of the 1 gram gold Panda displays imagery of Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests at the Temple of Heaven in Beijing with the words "People's Republic of China" in Chinese and the year of issue, 2022.
Chinese gold Panda coins used to be issued in troy ounce weight denominations form 1982 to 2015, but since 2016 have been minted only in a range of metric weights from 1 gram up to the largest 30 gram weight.
