This 2022 1/4 oz Lunar gold bullion coin from Australia’s Perth Mint is fabricated in .9999 fine gold and celebrates the Chinese Year of the Tiger.

The Tiger is the third of the twelve animals in the Chinese zodiac calendar, and those born in the Year of the Tiger are said to be brave, competitive and confident. They are very charming and well-liked by others.

The reverse of the 1/4 oz gold coin features detailed imagery of an Tiger, with the Chinese character for Tiger displayed in a contemporary style along with the inscription Tiger 2022.

The obverse of the coin features a head portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the words “AUSTRALIA”, and the coin’s weight and gold purity “1/4 oz 9999 Au”. The 1/4 oz gold Tiger has a face value of AUD 25.

Historically the Perth Mint was a branch mint of the Royal Mint of London but is now fully owned by the Government of Western Australia.
