One of the ten coins in the Queen’s Beast platinum series, the platinum White Lion refers to the heraldic beast, The White Lion of Mortimer.

Designed by Royal Mint designer Jody Clark, each of the 10 coins in the Queen’s Beast series is inspired by mythical beasts of British royal heraldry. 

The reverse of this 1 oz platinum coin features the royal heraldry of the White Lion of Mortimer sitting uncrowned with mane, tail and shield against a background of textured chainmail.

The reverse of White Lion platinum coin features a portrait of Elizabeth II, also designed by the Royal Mint’s Jody Clark.

The 1 oz platinum Queen’s Beast White Lion of Mortimer coin is legal tender in the UK with a face value of £100.
