This beautiful coin is minted by Monnaie de Paris to commemorate the 120th Anniversary of the Birth of Robert Schuman.
Robert Schuman was a French statesman and one of the founding figures of the European Union. Serving as France's Foreign Minister after World War II, he is best known for the Schuman Declaration of 1950, which proposed the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), a precursor to the European Union. This initiative aimed to foster economic cooperation between France and Germany to prevent future conflicts, laying the groundwork for long-lasting peace and integration in Europe. Schuman's vision earned him the title "Father of Europe," and he remains a symbol of European unity and diplomacy.
The coin is minted in .920 purity and contains 7.77 grams of pure gold. The coin weighs 8.45 Grams. Minor variations in weight and purity are to be expected due to the less advanced production techniques of the past and the wear and tear from these coins having circulated extensively over time. Given their age and usage, such deviations are considered normal. Coins falling within this 1% purity and weight tolerance are considered normal and will not be exchanged.
Limited to a maximum mintage of 3,000, this coin would make an excellent addition to any collection.
