The Perth Mint is a mint and precious metals refinery situated in Western Australia, and fully owned by the Government of Western Australia.

The reverse of the 1 oz Silver Kangaroo coin features imagery of a bounding ’red’ kangaroo encircled by a burst of sun rays. The reverse face is also inscribed with the coin’s year, weight, and silver purity.   

The obverse of the 2024 Silver Kangaroo coin displays a recent portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, the official monarch of Australia, designed by Dan Thorne.

The 2024 Silver Kangaroo coin includes an authentication and security feature on the reverse in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter which can only be seen through a magnifying glass.
