The reverse of the 2021 coin features iconic Australian imagery of a bounding red kangaroo in the Outback surrounded by stylized rays of sunlight. Encircling the imagery are the coin’s year of issue, weight, and platinum purity.

The obverse face of the 2021 platinum coin features an effigy of Australia’s monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, the chief engraver of Britain’s Royal Mint.
