The 11th coin of the popular Australian Lunar Series features a German Shepherd dog and pup lying in grass with Chinese peony flowers in the background. The Chinese character for "dog" and the inscription "Year of the Dog" also appear in the design with The Perth Mint’s traditional "P" mint mark.

The obverse features the Ian Rank - Broadley profile of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the purity of the coin and the denomination.

The set contains the Lunar Dog coins in 1/2 oz, 1 oz and 2 oz in proof versions.
